The wireless industry requires ever smaller package sizes with comparable or better electrical specifications for new generation applications. Therefore, this need also requires that components in these systems be smaller and more efficient. To meet these challenges, Florida RF Labs has developed a surface mount line of HybriX Directional Couplers with integrated terminations.
The HybriX Directional Coupler with integrated termination is the newest product offering from Florida RF Labs to address the needs of the Wireless Industry. The Directional Coupler products are low cost, high performance components manufactured with our proven single layer ceramic technology. The ceramic technology allows the integration of the 50 ohm termination along with a directional coupler to provide up to 150 watts of power handling in a .560 x .350 in. package.
The integrated termination allows for both better matching and more flexibility during board layout. The integrated termination defines the port assignments and gives rise to two configurations right and left. The two configurations indicate where the integrated termination is located in the circuit. The port with the integrated termination only needs to begrounded for correct operation.
The small size and low profile of the HybriX Directional Couplers allows for a wide range of applications. The devices are currently available in 10 and 20 dB coupling values. In addition, Florida RF Labs is committed to pursue customer requests for other coupling values. Operational frequency bands include Cellular, Narrowband GPS, GSM, PCS and 2.5G. The components are well adapted for base stations, mixers, frequency detectors, multi-carrier amplifiers, power detectors and other wireless subsystems. The series is available in tape & reel or tubes and are currently in stock.
